About This Game Metal Drift is a vehicular sport combat game set in a distant future. As the player, you command an agile, high powered hover tank in a futuristic sports arena. Core game play centers on intense tank-on-tank multiplayer team combat seen through an immersive, first person cockpit. The simplicity in no way detracts from it, and there's even an RPG style leveling to it, but new players shouldn't have any problems, you can level against bots as well as human opponents.. If you like first person shooters, explosions, tanks, racing, capture the flag, team based games, or even just shiny graphics this game will totally blow you away.. Hey everyone. I bought this game quite some time ago now and enjoyed playing it over LAN at home with friends and against bots. I'd like to tell you what changes were made in the last update to this game, but I can't because the devs decided we now have to create an online account with password in order to play at all. It would've been nice to give people the option to continue playing over LAN without forcing players online with strangers. I enjoy playing multiplayer online sometimes, but there are plenty of times that I just don't want to. I enjoyed things the way they were. If you know nothing about the game, it's basically like the old Car Wars arena play from Steve Jackson Games, but these vehicles hover. I enjoyed the game a lot for what it's worth, but if you want to play you need to get used to the idea that an online account is required. I can't review any of the changes since the last major update that added the account requirement with no option to bypass. As it is, if you like cars and weapons in an arena, this is okay... but wait for it to go on sale. I do recommend the game overall with the notable provisions stated above. My kids didn't really like playing it very much. They'd rather play a lot of other games instead of this. I have deleted the game from my system, but if my kids ever change their minds about playing... maybe I'll make an account for it. Maybe. Sometimes I just want to play over LAN with people I know, but the devs excluded that option. Too bad.. Metal Drift is a fun game for the very few hours you will playing it.It is a third person combat car game where you need to kill the opponent and take the ball in middle to score with it.Don't expect to play this over the net since there is never any servers running and if there is it is only 1 other person.I would highly recommend getting the 4-pack twice and play with 7 irl friends that is where this game gets fun.If on sale I would highly recommend buying it to try it out other than that there is far better games out there.. What do you say about a game with no redeeming value whatsoever? "It sucks" feels so empty on its own.Anyway, don't buy this game. Even if you do have it, don't play it. It's just rubbish.. You can't proceed to the start menu to check out even the single player part, before being required to create a gaming account.Not going to happen, as I got this game in a bundle, and honestly can't be bothered to jump through several hoops, just to try a game for a few minutes.At least there were cards.... A really cool concept and a really cool game but sadly its dead and apart from the MP there's nothing to it.. I can't recommend this game. Forcing you to register for an account, tossing you in with bare minimum instructions leaves me having no idea what to do or what's going on. It's a simple enough game, i'm not sure what niche it's trying to fill, being a combination of driving, sports, and shooter? I gave it a shot, and couldn't do it. The visual style is rather appealing in some ways, but everything is just too unintertesting or too loosely connected.. Do not buy this game. It may look fun but the multiplayer is only availabe for a few hours per day.This shouldn't even say it has multiplayer if it's only availble for a few hours a day.
